Police Present N7.7m Cheques To Families Of Deceased Officers In Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has presented cheques in the sum of seven million, seven hundred and one thousand, six hundred and sixty- six naira, thirty-five kobo (₦7,771,666.35k) to various families and next of kin of the departed police officers who died in active service to the nation.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, while presenting the cheques to the twenty-two (22) beneficiaries said the gesture is under the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun’s Group Life Assurance and Family Welfare Scheme.

The commissioner, who prayed for the departed souls, urged the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously as it’s meant to alleviate their suffering before the main benefits are paid.

One of the beneficiaries expressed his gratitude for the Inspector General of Police’s kind gesture and promised to make good use of the money.

Last year, the Katsina State Police Command lost at least five officers, neutralized fifty-four bandits, rescued one hundred and twenty-two kidnapped victims, and arrested two hundred and forty-one (241) bandits within the period under review.
